What is the Padpivot made of? The main body is made of durable ABS plastic. The edges are TPE (rubber) which is both grippy and protective so your tablet or pad will not be scratched or marked. What is the Grip Plate made of? The grip plate is made of a special material that has embedded tack properties. The grip can be rejuvenated by rinsing it in water and air dry. The Grip Plate won't adhere to cases that are extremely textured, silicone-based or made of natural fibers. However, these cases can still be propped on the non-slip Dustcover. We found the full tack properties of the Grip Plate are not always desired. The Grip Plate works well with thermally, molded, semi soft grip cases. Will it work with Cases? In "Stand" mode - PadPivot is designed to work with many pads & tablets with cases on them. We have product tested with many cases for iPad and Samsung Galaxy Tab, but we can't test them all.  In "Lap" mode - The Grip Plate won't work with cases that are extremely textured or silicone-based. However these cases can still be propped on the non-slip Dustcover as the full tack properties of the Grip Plate are not always required. The Grip Plate works well with thermally, molded, grip style cases. Won't the "Grip Plate" get dirty in my pocket? The "Grip Plate" will collect dusty friends when not attached so we included a cover that keeps it clean and happy. Do I always have to use the "Grip Plate"? No, there are times when you might like to rest your Tablet on the non-slip dust cover. The PadPivot won't stay attached but sometimes that might be preferred. How strong is the holding power of the "Grip Plate"? It's strong enough to provide great support while sitting with your tablet on your lap or when using the pivot function. The PadPivot weighs next to nothing so it doesn't take a whole lot of holding power to stay with your tablet as you move it around your desk or from one leg to the other. The "Grip Plate" is not a mechanical connection or a harness and should never be used to hang the full weight of a device. Never use the PadPivot as a handle! Common sense will go a long way in keeping your Tablet safe. Will PadPivot fit my legs? PadPivot was product tested on humans. The base body has a generous arc and should fit nicely on any person's thigh. For thinner thighs, like Jim's son Hadden (he has bird legs), we recommend using the included "Tether Strap". It allows the "Wings" of the base to fold around a smaller thigh. The strap is adjustable for added comfort. Will it grip on my pants? The entire bottom of the PadPivot is covered in TPE rubber. We have sourced a material with the best coefficient of friction and durability we could offer. What the hell is Coefficient of Friction? Well lets just say its super grippy.
